Mamta Banerjee is a famous
Indian politician who has been the Chief Minister of West Bengal. Mamta
Banerjee has so much popularity among the people of West Bengal that people
call her as Didi. The word Didi in Bengali means elder sister. Mamta Banerjee has
been the Chief Minister of West Bengal since 2011. Even today she is the Chief
Minister of West Bengal. Mamta Banerjee is the 8th Numbar of West Bengal and
the first woman Chief Minister. Initially, Mamta Banerjee was associated with
the Indian National Congress. It later split from the Indian National Congress.
Mamta Banerjee has also been a Railway Minister twice. And she is the first
woman to do so, who has been a railway minister twice. Currently she is the
president of Trinamool Congress Party. Mamta Banerjee founded AITC or TMC in
1998 after splitting from the Congress party. In 2011, Mamata Banerjee's party
All India Trinamool Congress (AITC) defeated the Communist Party of India in
the elections and became the Chief Minister for the first time. Mamta Banerjee
was included in Time magazine's list of 100 most influential people in 2012. In
2018, Mamta Banerjee was awarded the "Scotch Chief Minister of the
Year" award. Mamta Banerjee was included in the "50 most influential
person of Bloombury Markets magazine" in 2012 itself. Mamta Banerjee is a
very influential figure in politics.

Mamta Banerjee was born in
1955 in a Bengali family in Kolkata. When Mamta Banerjee was 17 years old, her
father died. Mamta Banerjee started her political activities from a young age.
In 1970, he completed his higher secondary studies. Mamta Banerjee entered
politics when she was studying for a Bachelor's degree from Jogmaya Devi
College. Mamta Banerjee was just 15 years old at that time. Mamta Banerjee
founded Chhatra Parishad Unions, The Student's Wing of the Congress Party while
studying in college. He defeated the Union of the Socialist Unity Center of
India in his student politics. After this Mamta Banerjee worked continuously
for the Congress Party. He held separate posts and worked for Congress and
Political Organization. Mamta Banerjee has also studied law. Mamta Banerjee
founded the All India Trinamool Congress (AITC) party in 1998 after splitting
from the Congress party. Mamta Banerjee has sold 300 paintings made by her for
Rs 9 crores.

in History, Law and Literature. In 1970, Mamta Banerjee completed Higher
Secondary from "Deshbandhu Shishu Shikshalaya". After completing her
higher secondary studies, Mamta Banerjee received a Bachelor's degree in
History from Jogmaya Devi College. After studying B.A in history, he obtained a
master's degree in Islamic history from Kolkata University. After master's
degree, Mamta Banerjee studied law from Jogesh Chandra Chaudhary Law College
Kolkata. Mamta Banerjee holds the title of Honorary Doctorate from Kalinga
Institute of Industrial Technology Bhubaneswar. Mamta Banerjee participated in
political activities during her college studies. He holds a doctorate of
literature (D.Litt) from Kolkata University.

Mamta Banerjee became
the Chief Minister of West Bengal for the first time in 2011. At that time,
Mamata Banerjee's party defeated the Communist Party which had been in power
for the longest time in the history of world democracy. The Communist Party
remained in power in West Bengal for 34 consecutive years. After 2011, Mamta
Banerjee's party All India Trinamool Congress came to power. At that time the
Trinamool Congress won 184 seats. The Trinamool Congress formed its government
in the state in alliance with the INC and the SUCI. Thus Mamata Banerjee was
elected to the post of Chief Minister. On 20 May 2011, Mamta Banerjee was sworn
in as the Chief Minister of West Bengal. Mamta Banerjee became the first woman
Chief Minister of West Bengal.
Mamta Banerjee became the
Chief Minister of West Bengal in 2016 for the second time. In the 2016 assembly
elections, the Trinamool Congress won 211 out of 293 seats. This was the second
consecutive major victory of the Trinamool Congress. Thus Mamata Banerjee was
elected the Minister of West Bengal for the second time. The Trinamool Congress
got an absolute majority in the 2016 election. Therefore, Trinamool Congress
formed the government in West Bengal for the second consecutive time. The
Trinamool Congress became the first political party to form its government
after 1962 with an absolute majority in West Bengal.

Chief Minister: -
Mamta Banerjee did a lot of
development in the state as the Chief Minister of West Bengal. People liked his
work seeing his work and development. That's why the people of West Bengal
started calling him Didi. Mamta Banerjee became the Chief Minister of West
Bengal in 2011 for the first time. As soon as he assumed the post of Chief
Minister, he took the first decision in favor of Singur farmers. His first
decision was to return his 400 acres of land to Singur farmers. The cabinet
said that the government decides to return their 400 crore acres of land. The
government of West Bengal asked Taita Babu ie Ratan Tata to set up the factory
on the remaining 600 acres. Mamta Banerjee settled the Gorkhaland violence that
has been going on since the inception of the Gorkhaland Territorial
Administration. During his tenure, teachers and pensioners benefited.
Mamta Banerjee as Railway
Minister: -
In 2000, Mamta Banerjee
became the Railway Minister for the first time. He presented his first railway
budget in the year 2000. He announced somewhere in this railway budget. He
announced the running of New Delhi-Seldah Rajdhani Express and four express
trains in West Bengal. Mamta Banerjee expanded the Railway Budget and
Pune-Howrah Azad Hind Express train services while Railway Minister. Mamta
Banerjee also worked on Digha-Howrah Express. Mamta Banerjee also worked on the
development of tourism by working on the Darjeeling-Himalayan railway section.
Mamta Banerjee reinstated rail service between Bangladesh and Nepal as Chief
Minister. Mamta Banerjee connected parts of West Bengal with express rail
services.

Shalimar-Adra Aranyak Express, Sealdah-Ajmer Ananya Superfast Express,
Sealdah-Amritsar Akal Takht Superfast Express, Howrah-Purulia Rupsi Bangla
Express, Sealdah-New Jalpaiguri Passenger Express etc. were run to connect
different parts of West Bengal.
